Retailers competed for hundreds of years and going on line is no different. The Myth behind .com is "that setting up a site at .us is a waste of time and money because all the traffic will go to the .com address" , this is the argument and it's what most .com companies would like you to believe, why because the best way to beat competition is to stop it before it even starts. Here's the stats no opinions just data from overture . Yahoo owns both delicious.com and del.icio.us for the month of june delicious.com scored 134 with .com extension and del.icio.us scored 4765 , according to the myth these scores should be reversed .com with no double dots should have scored the higher score and the myth you'll lose all your traffic to .com is just that a myth as you see scores dont give opinions just numbers.
