Possibly over the next few months that number will be over 1 million registrations of .US. domain names registered. There's whats called nexus requirements which require residency or doing business in the US to hold a dot US domain name this has limited it's growth.That aside its not to bad considering the average person has no idea you can even own a .US name most consider .US reserved to the 50 states. Associating .US with the 50 states has some good points mainly the intergrity and credibilty that the states themselves carry.With .US nearing 1 million regs.,also the huge increase in indexed pages in google click here .US sites ,the pace at which large companies are setting up .US sites like Apple Computers Automator.US and the exposure in the media advertising the US extension will make .US a houshold name soon or later.
